Welcome to the Eco Stars Page!

The Eco Stars Group is run by Mrs Grice and Mrs Corlett and our aim is to make everyone at

Birkdale Primary more aware of how to look after the environment.

So far we have carried out an eco audit about all areas of school life. Following this we have identified waste, recycling and re-using as our first priority and have been coming up with a plan of how to tackle this.

We help to keep recycling bin in use, turn off the lights and SmartBoards when not in use...Watch out because our Eco Stars are always watching!

We help to keep our playground clean and tidy using our litter pickers and encourage others not to drop litter!

We are also recycling our used school equipment and sending it off to a charity. 

We are in charge of our Walk to School tracker that helps all the children in school to earn special animal badges.
 

Queens Court Hospice

We were very lucky to grow our own special sunflowers for the hospice. We were then invited to see them blooming at the hospice, bringing joy to the staff and patients. We had a wonderful tea party and enjoyed the beautiful gardens.
