Every year on June 21st, we celebrate World Music Day at Birkdale Primary School. 

At Birkdale Primary, we celebrate World Music Day by spending a whole day learning and creating music! All of our teachers and students get involved, and we focus on the 3 key areas of music; learning, creating and performing! 

History of World Music Day

The Fête de la Musique, also known in English as Music Day, Make Music Day or World Music Day, is an annual music celebration that takes place on 21 June. On Music Day, citizens and residents are urged to play music outside in their neighbourhoods or in public spaces and parks. There are lots of free music performances and concerts around the world to get lots of people involved.
